Rössler attractor

Otto Rössler, 1976

Rössler wanted the simplest flow that could be chaotic: one nonlinear term. The path spirals outward on a flat disc, then lifts, folds over and drops back near the centre, like a baker folding dough.

ẋ = −y − z, ẏ = x + ay, ż = b + z(x − c); a = b = 0.2, c = 5.7
