Cissoid of Diocles
Diocles, about 180 BC
Take a circle through O and the tangent at the far end of its diameter from O. Along each line from O, the cissoid lies as far from O as the circle lies from the tangent, so it rises from a cusp at O toward the tangent without reaching it. It can be used to double the cube.
r = 2a sin θ tan θ
