Where editorial illustration runs now: article pages, newsletters, apps, social cards. Developing a concept from a piece of writing, and making an image that reads at every size it will run. Thumbnailing on paper, in class. Also covered: using AI for research and concepting, and how to cite it. Christoph Niemann's TED talk on visual language is screened in class.
